Welcome to Rainey Day Reading!
Let's start with some introductions! I'm Indi Raine, playwright and author (just not published yet). I love to read and write, and my life, faith, hobbies, and friends are constant inspirations. I rarely get writer's block-I just have the problems of finding time to write, and deciding which one of my dozens of ideas I should tackle first! Interesting names, unusual situations, unique places, fascinating cultures, eccentric lifestyles-they spin around in my head and/or get put into my notebooks or journal. Sometimes I'll be listening to someone tell me a story, and something in my brain goes "Ding! That's great story material!" And sometimes late at night, I'll get this great idea-maybe its a show name for a horse, or the perfect name for a little girl character- and then I have to turn the light on, find a pen and paper, and write it down before I forget (that can be an annoying time to get inspired)! I think that's why I have a hard time trying to write a book-I have to stop to work on other ideas! I'll be using some short story ideas for this blog, so hold onto your hats-there will be stories eventually! And announcements when I put new books and plays up for sale. And updates on what is going on in my writing life. And I'm also planning on giving a course on this blog on how to write your own play, with advice from the very beginning (getting inspired) to the end (proof-reading and performing)!
Now, this may seem quite aside to those of you who don't understand how much this means to me, but some of you may have noticed that I mentioned "my faith" up above. No, I'm not talking about the character trait of faith. I'm talking about my salvation. I was saved when I was a young child, and I am very grateful to the Lord for His constant love and help through many hard experiences in my life. Do all of you know about salvation? It is when you realize that you are a sinner and deserve to die for your sins, no matter how big or little they are. It is also when you realize that God is pure, and that He has no sin. Yet God's Son , Jesus (Who is God), came down to earth to die for your sins so that you wouldn't have to die for them. And do you know what? Jesus is alive today, because He rose from the dead! How amazing and wonderful! And if you but ask Jesus to be your Saviour and take away your sin and help you live a new life in Him, Jesus will save you from having to go to Hell-a place of never ending death-and instead take you to Heaven when you die! That surely is amazing, and I wanted to tell all you readers that, just in case nobody else ever told you.
And I don't just put my faith in these blog posts. I want to have that message throughout my books and plays, so that everyone who reads them or sees them performed will hear that message. You see, I want to write material that everyone can read. If you are a Christian, than you probably know how hard it can be to find good Christian books. And listen-I like stories to have good morals in them, but I don't like it to sound like that is the only thing to go away with. I like to have adventure, real life scenarios, comedy, and more! So be prepared for a good time, because we're going to have it-just without objectionable components (ex. swearing, immorality, etc.).
I guess that I mentioned hobbies above. I love music and Irish dance, and they are a big, special part in my life. You will notice if you read any of my stories that they often have horses in them-that is because I LOVE horses! I also have family and friends that I enjoy spending time with (although I think that they find it annoying when I try writing a play while playing games with them, which I've done! I know three people who could tell you about the time I was writing that play, and …let's leave it there!).
So, now I think that I've introduced myself and my plans for this blog and my website. How 'bout introducing yourself down below in the comments? I'd love to hear from you!
So, about this blogging stuff. I think I'll try to post on Saturdays, with the occasional post throughout the week. Check by again soon! Plus, I love to talk in comments (as those of you who know me from other blogs may know!), so comment lots!
Before I go, I'd like to put it out there-is there anything that you like to read about? If you give me some good ideas, I might be able to work them into a short story for this blog!
For now,
Blessings and Bye from
Indi Raine
P.S. If you want to know more about salvation, read the wonderful verse-John 3:16. You can also ask in the comments. :D
