I am on a tight schedule on Mondays, but here is the promised second scene of "Cut and Polished", and if I am correct, everyone is waiting on it, not another "Playing Around" writing post! ;D I don't blame you. I'd rather write plays than write about writing them (most of the time!). Beware, though: this scene is sad. (Do you need a Kleenex?)
Without any farther ado or waste of time...
Scene Two:
(Setting: James is in his jewelry workshop, working on jewelry.
Character: James)
James: (holding up topaz stone to the light) This certainly is a beauty! I think it would make a gorgeous ring for Paz. Let me see...(examines topaz seriously) How should I cut this? (sets down topaz; scrutinizes several other gems; compares a gem to the topaz) Maybe this cut would be nice. (studies gems some more; phone rings; James answers, after looking at caller ID and frowning) Hello. Donalds' Jewelry. How can I help you? (listens) Yes, I'm James Donalds. (listens; anxiety in voice) Yes, she's my sister. (listens) Topaz is her daughter-my niece. But what is going on?! (listens; groans) Yes...I'll...I'll be there soon. Yes. (hangs up; looks upward) Oh, Sarah! Gone-you're gone! A car accident, and you're gone! (brokenly; passionately) God, please help us! Help us!
(Quick curtain close; end of scene two)
And that, my friends, is scene two. What do you think? No, Topaz was not really mentioned. What do you think happened to her? Put your guesses in the comments below!
Oh, and how to comment. If you do not know how, it is really not too difficult. Go to the bottom of the post, below the like and tweet buttons. There will be a little line saying "No Comments", "One Comments", "Two Comments"...something like that. Put your mouse over it, and press it (it should change shades of green a bit). Then the commenting section will be up. By the way, the website address is NOT needed! Neither is the e-mail (I think!). So, that is how to share your views. Also, while you are commenting your guesses about the next scene of "Cut and Polished", let me know what else you would like to see on this blog. I've got some ideas, but I write for you, so give me your ideas and thoughts on it!
Well, I'd better go. I've got music to memorize and a piano that needs another half hour of practice logged into it.
God bless!
